The airstrip has been cleared, the grass slashed, and an inspection for ruts and drainage off-flows done by a team of casuals. The airstrip has now been extended by a length of 200m using the JCB and a team of 6 casuals from the local communities. Murram has been excavated by the JCB for levelling out this section of the extended airstrip. The road around the end of the old airstrip has been diverted and cleared.
