Our Team and Trustees

The George Adamson & Tony Fitzjohn Wildlife Trust benefits considerably from the broad expertise and experience of its Trustees in the UK, the USA and in Kenya.

We are also very fortunate to have our dedicated team operating in the field, who work tirelessly to deliver our programmes within Kora National Park.

Our Team

Lucy Fitzjohn

Field Director

Lucy has spent 35 years working for the George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust (now The George Adamson & Tony Fitzjohn Wildlife Trust), 25 years of which were spent in the field, initially working on The Mkomazi Project in Tanzania, and for the past two years for the Kora Project in Kenya. She worked alongside Tony Fitzjohn on the infrastructural development and rehabilitation of Mkomazi, which encompassed endangered species programmes and community outreach programmes – learning skills that she is applying to the Trust’s work in Kora today.

Stephen Kameti

Liaison Officer (between the Trust, Kenya Wildlife Service and the local communities)

Stephen has had a distinguished career in Kenya, formerly as a development officer and then as Field Officer for 17 years working with Trusts for African Schools (TAS) alongside Kenya Wildlife Service in the construction and improvement of school infrastructure and water projects in the communities surrounding Kora. For all these years, he worked closely with the Trust and Tony Fitzjohn on this community outreach work, both in the field and as the Trust’s liaison with Kenya Wildlife Service and strategic partners, including government departments. From 2022, he is working with the Trust and its wider projects.

Alexander Fitzjohn

Field Assistant and Pilot

Alexander grew up in Mkomazi and under the tutelage of his father, Tony Fitzjohn, and the Mkomazi Team he learned and developed the skills to enable him to support field operations, encompassing infrastructural development of Kora, wildlife recovery programmes and the running of the workshops for the heavy plant, vehicles and equipment. Together with the team in Kora, he has a close working relationship with Kenya Wildlife Service in the field. He holds a Private Pilot’s License (PPL).

Our dedicated team on the ground in Kora, who work tirelessly alongside Lucy, Stephen and Alexander to deliver our programmes within Kora National Park.
