Fence repair and replacement is done on a continual basis. Road works, drainage ditches, maintenance of existing roads are also carried out on a continual basis by the JCB, Fastrac and Cat grader. We were able to raise funds for a new digital radio system, which is a great addition to security. The engineers are here now installing it.
We have discussed improving the power and capability of the existing horn transmitters with the telemetry company who design and manufacture them.
Our security outpost construction goes on apace. We were able to order some more of these uniports for these outposts which are a very efficient and cost-effective way of building as the whole process is much quicker than bringing in masons and carpenters to build on site.
There is, however, no substitute for boots on the ground and twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, everybody is on the job looking after these rhinos.
