Kora’s landscape has been degraded over the past three decades by intense livestock grazing, commercial bush meat poaching and the burning and destruction of the Tana River’s forests, devastating the wildlife and disrupting its delicate ecosystem. But there is hope. Kenya Wildlife Service has established a restoration programme, working together with the Trust to revive Kora’s incredible natural beauty, safeguard its wildlife and rebuild the rich ecosystem that once thrived there.
The Kora project is a unique mission to restore a precious wilderness by a team that has a proven model to deliver. The Trust works in partnership with Kenya Wildlife Service at every stage, and in close collaboration with the communities surrounding Kora.
Now is the time to accelerate our work and rehabilitate this vanishingly rare ecosystem.
But, we can’t do this without your support, and every moment counts. Each donation brings us one step closer to restoring Kora to its former glory – helping us rehabilitate its wildlife, protect endangered species and empower local communities to take an active role in conservation.
Help us bring Kora back to life.
